Boredom
Erin Thomas | Fairfield, CT

December 18, 2009

Parents,

When you see your kids not doing their homework or other assignments, ask them if they're bored with their class, teacher, and/or classwork.

Although there are so many distractions, including friends, sports or other afterschool activities, nagging siblings, cell phones, text messaging, facebook, etc..., those may not be the reasons for not-done or missing homework assignments.

If your child feels that his teacher is boring, he may subconsciously "forget" to do the work. She may "zone out" during class, because she is not getting the proper stimulation.

Please discuss this issue with your child's teacher, so the teacher can work on other ways to teach assignments. Also, the teacher can give "special" homework assignments to your child that will be more stimulating.

Don't forget! You can always help your child by finding fun and educational projects for him to do alone or with you.
