First Days of School Headaches
Erin Thomas | Fairfield, CT
August 23, 2010School has either begun or is about to begin for America's students, and the pressure to succeed is rushing in.
Parents, you're getting school supplies, new school clothes, and, once again, figuring out how to accomplish everything on your to-do list alongside your kids' school schedule, extra-curricular activity schedule, homework time, etc.... It gives me a headache just mentioning it!
Remember, your kids are also relearning how to be in school again. They have to wake up early, eat on a schedule (lunch is at 10:30 AM for some students!!), do their homework, study for tests, etc... Where did all that summertime fun go?!?!
Oh yeah, and they're also having to relearn stuff they already learned last year -not that it's any easier the second time around - because after 2 1/2 months of doing no schoolwork, they've actually forgotten many of the lessons they learned.
If you have another week until your child goes back to school, set the "school schedule" now! By the time school begins, a routine will have taken place, and getting up for the first days of school won't be a headache.
Good Luck! |
