How to get your toddler to hand over the remote.... Marisa A. Rae | Susquehanna, PA
December 31, 2008
Ever noticed how your toddler rarely will hand you something directly if it's something they know they shouldn't have? It's a powerplay and a game all wrapped in one. It's not malicious; Far from it. It's way of making sure you stay engaged with them. Toddlers are line-of-sight cooperative and task oriented and beginning to understand personal possesion. Ask them instead to put that remote control IN something else. A basket, a drawer, or even under the sofa, and watch them cooperate.
