I am a retired NYC English teacher who is presently teaching as an adjunct professor at a local college.  In NYC, I taught in a New Visions high school where I wore many hats.  I taught English to grades 9 through 12, was the faculty advisor to the school newspaper and taught journalism as well as film studies.  During my tenure, I taught the English component of the new SAT exam. 

In my 12th grade English classes, I  guided students writing their college essays.  Under a College Board grant, I received certification as an AP English teacher in both Literature and Language and taught AP English Literature.  I was honored in Who's Who Among America's Teachers for the last three years of my high school teaching career ending in 2005-2006.  

As an adjunct professor, I have taught all levels of English from remedial courses through Shakespeare.  I have also worked for the Learning Center where I tutored students in writing and evaluated placement tests and CLEP exams.  Presently, I am teaching English Literature and Writing the Research Paper. 

During my years teaching in both high school and college, I developed a curriculum for both developing and strengthening the essay.  Analysis of literature and critical thinking have alway been considered an important part of my English curriculum.  I work closely with my students to develop their editing skills and and confidence.
