Non Scholae Sed Vitae Discimus - Not for school but for life!
Greetings,
I have taught math in Southern Westchester county for 8 years and am certified NYS 6 - 12 with an under graduate degree in mathematics and a graduate degree in education.
Currently, I am the chair person for my department and have had the philosophy that all students can learn math. We may not all learn at the same rate, but the final outcomes should be the same.
My partner and I work in tandem to provide SAT/ACT tutoring Math and English/Science for students preparing for the next stage in their academic careers.
It has always been my feeling that if I can find the avenue, anyone can grow to tolerate math, if not enjoy it. I pride myself on being able to deliver the material in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere where student can ask whatever questions necessary to help them learn. Using a 21st century model, we will extend homework problems to more of a critical thinking foundation. I implement a reteaching and spiraling approach to help ensure we are internalizing content.
I look forward to working with you and your child.
Have a nice day!
