I am a native of Tehran and began my career as a young man in the airline industry. There, I quickly rose to the management ranks and began to travel throughout the world providing education in standard operating procedures to our airline staff and affiliates. Some of the main courses taught was proper English, Persian- Farsi and Culture. I have ample experience in teaching Farsi as a second language to English speaking students and have helped them to read, write and speak Farsi. I associate language learning with a wealth of culture and this way student will feel and understand the core of the subject. My approach to learning is to tailor my method to each student based upon his/her needs and learning style. My method has two core principles which not only make language comprehension more achievable but also more enjoyable: Firstly, learning must be fun. This means that the subject matter must be delivered in multiple methods which eliminate boredom and stimulate different ways of thinking about the target language. These methods include role playing, incorporation of current events, and cultural projects/research. Secondly, language comprehension is not a single skill set, it is a complex combination of reading, writing, and speaking which are all complimentary yet very different skills. I design curriculum to utilize all three skills in order to activate different areas of the brain and to reinforce long-term memory through repetition. The goal is to not only to understand but to create language. True language comprehension is not reciting memorized phrases. It is understanding proper grammar and vocabulary to the point of correctly conveying your exact thoughts in the target language. When this is achieved, it is a beautiful moment and all of the hard work and dedication will be justified.
