Drexel University - Biomedical Engineering
University of Maryland, Baltimore County- MS Mechanical Engieering
I have about 6 years of experience tutoring over 80 students from elementary to graduate level in science, math and test preparation. I am currently a practicing engineer at a medical device company and tutor in my free time. It's something I really love to do, there's nothing better than seeing the "light bulb" moment.
Through participating in a biomedical engineering curriculum, I learned to thinking critically about different subjects and how they relate to each other, which I now use to tutor and help students understand. I also aim to instill critical thinking techniques while teaching, allowing students to move away away from memorization and towards logical thinking and problem solving. In turn they can retain the information and score better on exams.
While tutoring I try to incorporate a comfortable and fun environment to promote learning. I feel that the more comfortable one feels while learning, the more beneficial the lesson will be. I try to build my students' confidence in order for them to feel comfortable asking questions and communicating their weaknesses. In this way, I can direct my teaching style to each student's learning style and learning rate. I also try to promote good organization and study skills, which I fell are important in order to focus one's attention and provide for clearer thinking.
I am confident that my experience will be well suited for your goals. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I holt to hear from you soon and help you in your success!
