ONE-ON-ONE TUTORING AND MENTORING
Our goal is for every young woman to have the confidence that she can be great at science, to believe in herself and to be rewarded for her achievement. All of our tutors are female role models who teach science in an accessible way. Through the Powers Method, we build a strong foundation for college level sciences, encourage and increase the number of women who will choose the sciences as their career.
To be a part of today's fastest growing field — students must be prepared for college level courses. However, only 44% of high school students are ready for college level math and 36% for college level science. Powers Education teaches science in a way that lays a strong foundation for such classes and beyond. We get results because we embody the “growth mindset”, which argues that being good at science is not an innate trait, but can be developed over time with the help of others. Research has shown that this way of thinking improves achievement gaps by 30-50%.
We specialize only in the quantitative subjects. We have breadth and depth of expertise in these areas. The Powers Method is about your results, your confidence, and learning science through relationships. We make learning intuitive and fun! We also offer Computer Science lessons as a head start to your college learning.
WE INVEST IN OUR TUTORS
Unlike other companies, we don’t just match clients with tutors — we invest in our tutors. Our tutors are not just skilled instructors, they are role models. We train them in the Powers Method and take on only college students who have exceptional academic records and a deep passion for the sciences. They are successful women, whom high school women can look up to, not just in the classroom.
