I am a tenured teacher for the NYC Department of Education (DOE). Currently, I am completing my 8th year with the NYC DOE and my 10th year as an educator. My teaching experience includes teaching English to speakers of other languages in Bronx, NY; New York, NY, and Madrid, Spain. I have taught students in grades K-12 as well as adults. During the past four years I have helped my ESL students in grades 3-5 prepare for the New York State ELA exam and the NYSESLAT.
As an educator, I take great care in insuring my students are equipped with the social-emotional skills required to facilitate learning. Therefore, I use physical activities that help students feel more positive and confident as well as more able to communicate, comprehend and organize the new material they are learning.
Throughout my entire teaching career, I have enjoyed helping my students develop the academic and social-emotional skills and abilities they need for today and tomorrow.
