Emily Carmen (Bonanno) is a professional educator of special education, gen ed grades 5th through undergraduate level education, as well as mathematics, and music. Ms. Carmen is a professional composer, arranger, orchestrator, producer and studio musician for many known films/television shows and performing artists ( including the hit children’s television show, Nick Jr.’s Dora the Explorer, Grammy winning
performing artist Macy Gray. Emily has been a music and special education teacher for the past decade and has taught students of all ages from as young as toddlers with severe autism to college level students of all levels of educational and special needs.
Ms. Carmen has taught on both the east and west coast from preschool to high school and even university lecture halls. Her professional studies include a background studying mathematics, physics audio/sound engineering and technology and music ed at Manhattanville College, Berklee College of Music, NYU’s Film Scoring Program, The Music Conservatory of SUNY Purchase with degrees in Music and Studio Composition and Educational Leadership. Her studies also include a decade of study with one on one mentorship numerous award winning
composers, producers, orchestrators, arrangers, and performing artists.
