I am a speech language pathologist with over 10 years experience in the field. Originally from NJ, I began working with the deaf and hard of hearing population as well as children with autism throughout my undergraduate studies. I knew from the start that I loved working with children and that teaching them how to communicate was the greatest gift I could give.

I graduated with a degree in Psychology from William Paterson University and moved down to Maryland to pursue my graduate degree in Speech Language Pathology. During this time I worked with various populations including children and adults with autism, dysfluency, traumatic brain injury, aphasia, speech and language delays, accent reduction needs, deafness and hard of hearing, dysarthria, and dysphagia.

I began working at the River School in 2007, an inclusion school for deaf and hard of hearing children, and loved every minute. Unlike other schools, the speech pathologist co-taught with a special educator. Therefore, I was in the classroom all day. I learned how to create lesson plans that directly targeted each child's needs. I was trained in literacy programs such as Wilson Fundations and Words Their Way. Using these techniques I bridged my knowledge of phonology to develop the most effective approach in teaching early literacy skills. It was an amazing experience and I feel that unlike most speech pathologists, I understand what a child needs to succeed in his/her classroom, rather that just focusing on "standard IEP goals."

Wanting to expand to other populations, I have recently changed jobs and will be working full-time for Montgomery County Public Schools this Fall. I am very excited about the new challenges ahead and am looking forward to learning from my clients.
